Large batch of smuggled medicines detained in Batken

Customs officers detained a large contraband medical cargo in Batken region. Press service of the State Border Service reported.

«A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van driven by a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic was stopped for inspection in Batken region. During the customs inspection, a product — medical solutions in the amount of 230 boxes of 100 pieces each — was found. The driver did not have any documents confirming customs clearance of the cargo,» the statement says.

The total weight of the detained cargo is 2,875 kilograms. The amount of damage caused to the state is estimated at 920,000 soms. The materials were sent to the South-Western Customs for making a decision.
