The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) revealed a corruption scheme in the Customs Service, with the help of which contraband cargo was supplied from China through the so-called false transit of goods.
«Individual companies, using the patronage of officials of the state service, registered transit of goods from China through Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan. However, the goods were unloaded in the Kyrgyz Republic without customs clearance and already empty trucks entered the Republic of Uzbekistan with fake customs declarations and sealed with fake customs identification means,» the message says.
Six employees of the Customs Service and three representatives of private companies were detained and placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security within a criminal case on March 16 and March 17. The damage caused by them to the state is about 1 billion soms.
Relatives of high-ranking officials are among the detainees.
«In recent days, false information has been spread in messengers, allegedly about the confrontation between the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Committee for National Security. We inform the public that there is no and cannot be any confrontation with the main supervisory authority. All investigative actions are authorized and carried out under procedural control,» the State Committee for National Security notes.
The head of the security services, Kamchybek Tashiev, took the investigation of the criminal case under his personal control.
