Center of Bishkek to have no cold water for two days

Cold water will be turned off for two days in the center of Bishkek next week. Press service of the City Hall reported.

The reason for the shutdown is preventive maintenance at Kok-Zhar water intake.

«These activities are aimed at preparing the water supply system for the upcoming season, providing high-quality drinking water for all residents of the city. Water intake will be temporarily shut down for two days. The reason for such a long outage is related to the large amount of work, which includes the disinfection of tanks and necessary operations on the city’s water supply networks. As a result of these actions, the optimal quality of drinking water and the reliable operation of the water supply system will be ensured,» the City Hall noted.

The cold water supply will be suspended from 8 a.m. on July 11 to 8 a.m. on July 13 in the area bounded by Frunze Street, Alamedin river, the railway line and Panfilov Street.

Bishkekvodokanal promises to make everything possible to carry out preventive measures within the specified time frame in order to minimize possible inconvenience for city residents.

The City Hall of the capital apologizes for the inconvenience caused and asks organizations and the population to stock up enough drinking water in advance for the specified period.
