A film laboratory, Qarash Lab, dedicated to director and screenwriter Dinara Asanova, will open today in Bishkek. Producer Aizhan Imankulova announced this at a press conference.
According to her, artists and cultural figures, business representatives, political and public figures from France, the USA, Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will take part in the project in order to share their experience.
The mission of the project is to contribute to the revival of the «Kyrgyz miracle» in cinema.
Dinara Asanova’s retrospective film «Tough Kids» will be screened at the opening, followed by a discussion.
The festival will include exclusive, premiere and retrospective screenings of films by famous Kyrgyz and foreign filmmakers, accompanied by creative meetings and discussions with filmmakers and famous film experts.
The four-day film event will be completed by a tribute concert by Dinara Asanova «The Best Songs from Kyrgyz Films» with the participation of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra named after Asankan Dzhumakhmatov under the direction of chief conductor Rakhatbek Osmonov. The orchestra will perform music from Dinara Asanova’s films in a modern version, and the audience will also hear new interpretations of soundtracks from Kyrgyz films. Mirbek Atabekov, Talant Abdyldaev, Kairat Primberdiev, Kanykey, Zhiydesh Idirisova and others will perform on stage.
At the concert, the winning team of the film project competition will be announced, which will receive funding to shoot their short film and promote it at international festivals.
