Fraud against investors: Ex-adviser to President of Kyrgyzstan detained

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has detained citizens A.K.T. and K.Zh.A. on suspicion of committing large-scale fraud against foreign investors. The latter’s initials match those of Zhanybek Kubandykov.

He previously served as an adviser to Sadyr Japarov and is the husband of Zhogorku Kenesh member Medina Kairylbekova. When contacted by journalists, Kairylbekova denied reports of her husband’s detention.

According to the SCNS, a criminal case has been opened under the «Fraud» article of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
