Cabinet of Ministers bans import of car bodies into Kyrgyzstan

The Cabinet of Ministers has imposed a temporary ban on the import of vehicle bodies into Kyrgyzstan. The resolution was adopted as part of measures to legalize vehicles and regulate the automotive market.

According to the document, the ban will apply to bodies classified under the EAEU Foreign Economic Activity Commodity Nomenclature code 8707 10 900 0. The restriction will take effect three days after the resolution is enacted.

However, the ban will not apply to bodies imported for vehicle production and assembly in Kyrgyzstan by a number of companies, including DT Technik, Shumkar, Zhisu, Shunfa, Murat Avto, Kyrgyz Unaa Kurulush, and Meridian Gold.

The Ministry of Economy has been instructed to notify the World Trade Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission of the restrictions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must also inform the CIS Executive Committee.

The Customs and Border Services have been instructed to prevent the illegal import of car bodies.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers repealed a similar resolution from October 2025.

The document comes into force on the day of its official publication.
