The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan and the head of Khakassia held a meeting on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Kubanychbek Bokontaev and Valentin Konovalov discussed issues of expanding and intensifying cooperation.
According to the head of the Russian region, Kyrgyzstan is one of Khakassia’s permanent trading partners. Since 1998, they have been bound by an agreement on comprehensive cooperation, which covers economy, science, technology and culture.
«We are ready to develop cooperation in the supply of food and light industry products. In 2025, our trading house Slavitsa successfully concluded a contract for the supply of ice cream to Kyrgyzstan — this is a striking example of our trade partnership.
Our republics, in addition to the economy, also cooperate in the field of culture and tourism. For example, in June 2025, the delegation of Khakassia participated in the «Museum Alliance: Eurasian Initiative» summit in Bishkek; last year, creative teams from the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the international festival Zharki, ChitigenFEST, an assembly of felting masters. The delegation came to Khakassia to exchange experience in the field of tourism. We have agreed on mutual information tours, and are also planning to hold a joint conference for entrepreneurs,» he said.
The meeting participants also noted that there are many points of growth and prospects for collaboration.
