The first meeting of the commission to review public transport routes, chaired by Deputy Mayor Ernis Toltoev, was held in Osh.
According to the City Hall, the city is experiencing population growth and territorial expansion, with new residential areas and streets appearing. Furthermore, following the relocation of the central market, the main directions of passenger traffic have changed, resulting in the current routes no longer fully meeting residents’ needs.
According to the City Hall’s press service, 38 minibus routes currently operate in Osh, with approximately 470-500 vehicles running daily. There are also 11 municipal bus routes (105-110 vehicles) and two trolleybus routes (24-26 vehicles). According to the City Hall, private minibuses carry the bulk of the passenger transportation burden.
Following the meeting, Deputy Mayor Ernis Toltoev instructed the commission members to analyze existing routes and prepare proposals for optimizing the city’s transportation system.
