A meeting of representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan responsible for water and energy matters was held in Bishkek. The parties discussed preparations for the autumn-winter and growing seasons. The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Ministry Head Altynbek Rysbekov noted that cooperation in the water and energy sector with neighboring countries is of particular importance for Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the meeting is an important platform for ensuring the region’s energy sustainability, reliable operation of systems, and further strengthening of partnerships.
The parties discussed issues of stable and coordinated operation of the region’s water and energy systems during the growing season and autumn-winter periods of 2026-2027. Particular attention was paid to coordinating the operating modes of energy facilities, adhering to agreed-upon schedules, and strengthening cooperation between the relevant agencies of the three countries.
Given the current situation at Toktogul reservoir, an interest was expressed in jointly securing the required volume of water and replenishing it.
The parties also agreed to coordinate efforts to ensure mutual electricity supplies, the successful completion of the upcoming heating season, and preparation for the growing season.
