This is due to the planned questioning of classified witnesses, whose identities and testimony are not subject to disclosure.
However, the defendant in the case, former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kursan Asanov, objected and demanded that the trial remain open. He was removed from the courtroom for disturbing the peace.
On June 11, the Pervomaisky District Court declassified the case materials, with the exception of the testimony of classified witnesses, in the case of preparation for a violent seizure of power and abuse of office.
The case involves former head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, former Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev, former Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, and several former politicians.
