From Karakol to Bishkek on foot: Eco-activist completes unusual campaign

An eco-activist and founder of Taza Karma Foundation, Andrei Panaev, arrived in Bishkek on July 1, completing a walking campaign aimed at promoting environmental awareness and greening efforts. The Bishkek municipality reported.

As part of the campaign, Andrei Panaev walked from Karakol to Bishkek carrying a pine sapling. Over the course of nine days, he covered 388 kilometers.

After arriving in Bishkek, the activist underwent a medical examination and then headed to an eco-technology plant for the processing of solid household waste, where he was welcomed by Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev.

Andrei Panaev is originally from Kazan, Russia. According to him, during his travels to different countries, he decided to connect his life with Kyrgyzstan. He met his wife there, started a family, and currently lives in Karakol.
