Two men detained with unregistered weapons in Alai district

Two local residents have been detained in Alai district of Osh region on suspicion of illegal firearms trafficking. The press service of the Internal Affairs Department of Osh region reported.

According to police, the arrests took place during the preventative operation «Arsenal.» The suspects are local residents, 57 and 56.

During an inspection, TOZ-11 and TOZ-8 firearms were found in their possession. The men did not have permits to possess the weapons.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched. A criminal case has been opened under the article «Illegal arms and ammunition trafficking.» The seized weapons have been sent for forensic ballistics examination.
