Post Bank, being established on the basis of the state-owned enterprise Kyrgyz Pochtasy OJSC, is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2027. The company’s CEO Marat Cherikchiev said in an interview with the media.
According to him, the new bank is expected to obtain its banking license by the end of 2026.
Cherikchiev noted that the establishment of Post Bank will mark a new stage in the development of Kyrgyz Pochtasy. The project is being implemented jointly with European partners, and the company itself will become one of its shareholders.
He also said that despite the growth of digital services and cashless payments, Kyrgyz Pochtasy continues to deliver pensions and social benefits to residents of remote regions.
According to the CEO, the new bank is not intended to compete with existing commercial banks but rather to expand access to financial services in the regions of Kyrgyzstan.
