Cabinet of Ministers is asked to allocate 240 million soms to fight hepatitis

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan is asked to allocate 240 million soms to fight hepatitis. Chairperson of the Hepatitis Society Anipa Nadirova announced at parliamentary hearings on the draft laws «On the Circulation of Medical Products» and «On the Circulation of Medicines».

She noted that in 2022, for the first time, a state program was developed to provide services for the diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis B and C.

«Last year we were allocated money to fight hepatitis. But they said that this was a one-time help. More than 16,000 people with hepatitis are registered in Kyrgyzstan. Work to combat the disease has begun, but there is a risk that the process may stop. We ask you to pay attention to this problem and provide patients with medicines for life. Therefore, we ask you to allocate 240 million soms for prevention and treatment,» Anipa Nadirova said.

She stressed that every day 10 people need liver transplantation and able-bodied young people from 28 to 36 years old become disabled.
