Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Erlist Akunbekov, met with representatives of approximately ten Chinese companies during a working visit to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China (XUAR).
During the meeting, representatives of business entities including China National Petroleum Corporation, China Road and Bridge Corporation, Xinjiang Sanbao Industrial Group Co., Ltd., China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., Khorgos International Trading Company, Xinjiang Commercial Logistics (Group) Co., Ltd., and Xinjiang Daheng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and the international trade and logistics company Altyn-Zhol, expressed their intention to develop cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in their respective areas and presented their investment proposals.
The parties discussed the implementation of joint economic projects in road construction, agricultural processing, energy, mining, fuel and lubricants, and bilateral trade.
Erlist Akunbekov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is implementing systemic government measures to ensure state guarantees for the protection and safety of foreign capital, as well as to create favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment.
He instructed the Kyrgyz government agencies and departments present at the meetings to promptly and thoroughly address all issues raised during the meeting.
It was clarified that these meetings were of a working nature. Final agreements and the signing of bilateral documents on the issues discussed are planned for the upcoming meeting of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, as well as on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit of heads of state, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan.
Furthermore, as part of his visit, the Deputy Cabinet Chairman met with representatives of domestic businesses doing business with China. During the meeting, domestic entrepreneurs were able to receive direct answers to their questions regarding transit, export, and processing of products. Calling entrepreneurs the backbone of the economy, Erlist Akunbekov emphasized that the state is always ready to support both domestic and foreign investors. He added that state support programs for domestic producers are currently successfully operating and shared plans to adopt new documents on grant and subsidy assistance.
