Export of strong alcohol from Kyrgyzstan more than triples

In Kyrgyzstan, the total foreign trade turnover of alcoholic beverages amounted to 1,412.5 billion soms ($16.15 million) in January—March 2026. According to data from the National Statistical Committee, imports continue to significantly dominate the structure of this market, similar to the non-alcoholic sector.

  • Imports: 1,184.2 billion soms ($13.54 million).

  • Exports: 228.3 million soms ($2.61 million).

Strong alcoholic beverages

In this segment, domestic producers made a breakthrough, increasing exports more than threefold to 66.2 million soms (250,800 liters of 100 percent alcohol).

Top 3 export destinations:

  1. Kazakhstan — 62.1 million soms (237,300 liters);

  2. Russia — 2.7 million soms (8,400 liters);

  3. China — 1.2 million soms (3,900 liters).

Imports of strong alcohol into Kyrgyzstan decreased to 273.5 million soms — 724,600 liters.

Top 3 import sources:

  1. Russia — 166.6 million soms (512,800 liters);

  2. United Kingdom — 49.6 million soms (92,300 liters);

  3. Georgia — 21.3 million soms (61,800 liters).

Beer

The beer market showed mixed growth. Kyrgyzstan’s exports more than doubled, reaching 28 million soms (544,600 liters).

Top export markets:

  1. Kazakhstan — 28 million soms (544,300 liters);

  2. Russia — 13,000 soms (300 liters).

Imports of foreign beer increased to 237.9 million soms, totaling 4,624.8 million liters.

Top 3 import countries:

Russia — 151.4 million soms (2,962.1 million liters);

Kazakhstan — 63.1 million soms (1,247.7 million liters);

Germany — 10.7 million soms (155,200 liters).

Natural grape wines

Imports of foreign wines into Kyrgyzstan increased to 84.2 million soms, totaling 453,600 liters. The main growth came from Uzbekistan.

Top 3 import countries:

  1. Uzbekistan — 27.6 million soms (238,600 liters);

  2. Italy — 18.9 million soms (56,400 liters);

  3. Georgia — 14.9 million soms (54,500 liters).

Domestic wine exports in 2026 completely ceased, showing zero figures across all directions.
